Why we built it
Most emoji sites bury the character you came for behind pop-ups, autoplaying videos and a signup wall. EmojiSpot does the opposite: the emoji is the page. Search, tap, paste, leave.
It also works with the keyboard and a screen reader, it works offline once you have loaded it once, and it works in eight languages.
What is on the site
1,906 base emoji, every one of them reachable from the homepage in two clicks.
323 emoji with skin-tone variants, plus dedicated browse pages for each of the five tones.
9 categories and 98 subcategories, following the official Unicode grouping exactly.
A page for every single emoji, with its codepoints, HTML entity, Unicode escape sequence, keywords and related emoji.
Where the data comes from
Every character, name and ordering comes from the Unicode Consortium's official emoji-test.txt for Unicode Emoji 16.0. Names and keywords come from the Unicode CLDR.
We do not invent names, we do not merge emoji, and we do not reorder them. If a character is in the standard, it is here in the same position the standard puts it.
What we do not do
No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
No tracking. Your favourites and your recently-copied emoji are stored in your own browser's local storage and never leave your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
No selling or sharing of data, because there is no data to sell or share.
The emoji themselves
The pictures you see are drawn by your own device — Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and others each have their own artwork, which is why the same emoji looks different on a phone and a laptop. EmojiSpot copies the character, never an image, so what you paste is a plain text character that works everywhere.
